Historic Equestrian Home Tour: The Library
Continuing on our tour of a historic home on an equestrian estate in Georgia. It’s a beautiful, stately mansion which has been vacant for over 10 years, and desperately needs some love. Watch the video to see more of the room I call “The Gentlemen’s Smoking Lounge with Ladies Invited”.
Here’s the room’s current condition- the bones of the room are actually in pretty good shape. The wall paneling, flooring and coffered ceiling is showing some wear and tear, but in the charming kind of way. The bookshelves are calling for interesting reads. The drapery has seen better days. And unfortunately the light fixture is a bit gaudy. Nothing that a little Ralph Lauren can’t fix!
And finally, here’s the rendering showing my design concept which includes Ralph Lauren’s chandelier, an antique Persian rug, a leather Chesterfield sofa, equestrian artwork, lots of books, tartan and tweed.
